Revenues from tourist tax up 14% to UAH 28.4 million in January

In January 2026, local budgets received UAH 28.4 million from tourist tax, which is 14.3% more than in the same period last year, when UAH 24.9 million was transferred.

This was announced by the Tax Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia Regions and the city of Kyiv have topped the rating of the most attractive tourist destinations in Ukraine.

The largest amounts of tourist tax have been received by the budgets of the following regions:

ADVERTISING

- Lviv Region – UAH 5.9 million;

- Ivano-Frankivsk Region – UAH 5.6 million;

- the city of Kyiv – UAH 5.6 million;

- Zakarpattia Region – UAH 3 million.

ADVERTISING

During temporary accommodation in hotels, hostels, manors and other places of residence, the tourist tax is paid by:

- citizens of Ukraine,

- foreigners,

- stateless persons.

ADVERTISING

At the same time, the following are not payers of the tourist tax:

- persons with disabilities;

- children with disabilities;

- persons accompanying persons with disabilities of group I or children with disabilities (no more than one accompanying person);

ADVERTISING

- war veterans.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, last year, the tourist tax revenues to local budgets increased by more than a third to UAH 359 million.
