Last year, tourist tax revenues to local budgets increased by more than a third to UAH 359 million.
This is stated in the report of the Tax Service, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
This is UAH 86 million more (31.5%) than in 2024.
Leaders in tax payment: Kyiv city – UAH 70.6 million, Lviv Region – UAH 63.1 million, Ivano-Frankivsk Region – UAH 46.2 million, Zakarpattia Region – UAH 31.9 million.
In 2025, the tourist tax paid by legal entities amounted to almost UAH 200 million (+34.7% by 2024). Individuals paid UAH 159 million (+27.6%).
Tourism tax is an important source of local budget revenues, as its funds are used to develop tourism infrastructure, improve territories and improve the quality of services in communities.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, tourist tax payers are citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons who are temporarily accommodated in places of residence (overnight stays), and tax agents are business entities that provide temporary accommodation services. They are the ones who charge, withhold and transfer the tax to the budget.
