According to sources, Donald Trump may make a decision in the coming weeks, focusing on domestic politics and pre-election priorities. Such a step, according to analysts, increases the risk of stopping the peace dialogue and increases pressure on Kyiv. At the same time, Washington may consider the negotiation track politically unprofitable and try to divide responsibility for the possible failure of the process between the parties to the conflict.
Kyiv emphasizes its readiness for diplomatic steps. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: "Ukrainians have been trying hard to demonstrate their willingness to compromise. The tactic we have chosen is to ensure that the Americans do not think that we want to continue the war." He stressed that Ukraine supports US initiatives aimed at accelerating the settlement, while preserving its own national interests.
Experts warn: a possible curtailment of Washington's participation in the negotiations could complicate international efforts to end the war and add uncertainty on the diplomatic front, especially in conditions where foreign policy is becoming part of the domestic political struggle in the United States.
