First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal predicts that restoration of two Kyiv CHPPs after damage from russian night strike will take place in one or two days.
Shmyhal said this at a meeting of the Rada's energy committee on Thursday, February 12, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today there was a Russian ballistic attack, debris landed on CHPP-5 and CHPP-6 in Kyiv. This led to damage to the gas distribution and gas compressor device at one of the CHPPs, and circular pumps and a water preparation system were broken at the second. I hope that everything will be restored in 24 hours for CHPP-5, and it may take two days for CHPP-6," Shmyhal predicted.
He added that the positive temperature made it possible not to drain the water from the system, and thanks to this, there would be no need to waste time filling the system and eliminating breakthroughs.
During the repairs, while houses remain without heating, energy workers are trying to limit electricity supply in the capital to 3–3.5 turns so that residents can heat their homes with electrical appliances.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, emergency shutdowns were introduced due to a massive attack in the Desnianskyi District of Kyiv.
A drone jet engine was removed from an apartment in Kyiv after a russian attack: services showed the consequences of the shelling.
2,600 houses in Kyiv were left without heat as a result of the russian strike on the night of February 12, and another 1,100 houses still lack heating after previous enemy attacks.
