The aggressor country of russia is trying to compensate for its losses by luring orphans to war with promises of free apartments. It was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
It is reported that orphans in the russian federation are legally entitled to an apartment upon reaching the age of majority. However, in practice, one has to wait in line for decades for such housing without any guarantee of receiving real estate.
Meanwhile, in the russian federation, there are cases when adult orphans are told by government agencies that the only chance to get housing is to sign a contract to participate in the war against Ukraine.
"Without housing and support from their parents, such young people often agree to this and in most cases die in the war without receiving housing," the Center added.
The Center for Countering Disinformation said that there were cases when whole groups of orphanage graduates went to war "for the sake of an apartment," but none of them returned alive.
"In the fourth year of the war, the number of Russians willing to fight even for big money is noticeably decreasing. Therefore, the Russian authorities are coming up with new ways to somehow "motivate" people to sign contracts, including by taking advantage of the social vulnerability of certain categories of the population," the Center notes.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russia continues militarization of children in the occupied territories.
