In January, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated more than 30,000 soldiers of the army of the aggressor country russia. This is almost a third more than the russians mobilized into the army during the month.

The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), Robert "Madyar" Brovdi stated this on February 5.

"The balance of the occupiers in January is negative. 22,000 is the volume of replenishment of the occupation army in January 2026 (mobilized/contracted)," the commander wrote on Facebook.

According to him, in January, the russians managed to mobilize or attract 22,000 people to sign a contract. At the same time, the occupiers' losses at the front amounted to 30,600 people.

"Madyar" noted that 9,300 russian soldiers were eliminated by the operators of the "Birds of Madyar" brigade. This is 22% less than in December, when the unit's fighters killed 12,000 occupants. The reason for this was the deterioration of weather conditions and a slight decrease in the intensity of the enemy's attacks.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Forces of Ukraine to increase the monthly losses of the russian army to 50,000 people killed.

On January 30, Bloomberg reported, citing estimates by European experts, that an increase in russian army losses could lead to a weakening of moscow's negotiating position in the foreseeable future.
