Increase in losses may lead to weakening of negotiating positions of RF in future - Bloomberg

The increase in the losses of the army of the aggressor country, russia, may lead to the weakening of Moscow's negotiating positions in the near future. Bloomberg reported this with reference to the assessments of European experts.

The agency recalled that the day before, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, stated that in December 2025, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated 35,000 soldiers of the russian army. This concerns exclusively the killed occupiers.

The Ukrainians have achieved high efficiency in the use of drones, which increases the lethality among russian soldiers, and also gradually shifts the ratio of the killed and wounded in the russian army towards the killed.

Several experts draw attention to the fact that the figures of the irretrievable losses of the russian army are approaching the indicators of how many russians are recruiting into the army every month. Such a trend will lead to the fact that it will be difficult to increase or maintain the number of russian groups in Ukraine at a sufficient level without mobilization.

At the same time, experts believe that russian dictator vladimir putin is unlikely to decide on such a mobilization, since this measure is extremely unpopular among the population. The Kremlin remembers what happened in the fall of 2022, when a "partial mobilization" was announced, which led to growing discontent and the departure of hundreds of thousands of people from the russian federation.

If Ukraine manages to increase the monthly level of russian losses, this may lead to the weakening of Moscow's positions in the negotiations in the near future.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy set the army the task of bringing the monthly losses of the russian army to 50,000 people killed.

Recall, on January 15, the UK Ministry of Defense reported in its intelligence review that during 2025 the russian army lost 415,000 people. These are both irretrievable and sanitary losses.
