On February 5, 157 Ukrainians returned from russian captivity - soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and border guards. There are also civilians among those who returned. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, most civilians have been held captive since 2022.
"Today's exchange took place after a long pause, and it is very important that it was realized. I am grateful to everyone who works for the sake of exchanges and to everyone who replenishes the exchange fund for Ukraine at the front. Without the determination of our soldiers, such exchanges would not have been possible, so every result of our units is something that supports the ability to bring Ukrainians home from Russia. We will continue to work to free our people from captivity," the President added.

As a reminder, Ukraine, the United States and the russian federation have agreed to exchange 314 prisoners in Abu Dhabi.
