Late in the evening of February 4, 2026, an earthquake occurred in the Chernivtsi Region. It was reported by the Main Center for Special Control.

Earthquakes were registered at 11:44 p.m. Kyiv time in the Dnistrovskyi District, on the territory of the Sokyriany community. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of three kilometers, and its magnitude on the Richter scale was 1.7.

According to the accepted classification, this phenomenon belongs to the category of imperceptible. This means that the intensity of the oscillations was too low for people to feel them, and the shocks themselves were recorded only by highly sensitive instruments of special monitoring stations. This earthquake does not pose a threat to the population or infrastructure of the region.
