A new command of Unmanned Air Defense Systems has been created in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to increase counteraction to drones of the aggressor country of russia. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, February 4.
Syrskyi noted that in January, Ukrainian-made interceptor drones demonstrated high results. According to him, there is a positive trend in the staffing of newly created interceptor drone divisions, and additional crews are also being trained. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasing their capabilities to counter enemy drones. "Small air defense" is currently one of the most dynamic and technological areas of modern warfare, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
"The training of additional crews is ongoing. Hundreds of UAV crews have already been transferred under the operational control of the Air Force group - they are performing tasks in the I-III echelons of interception. In parallel, we are strengthening anti-drone protection of key administrative centers in front-line regions," Syrskyi said.
However, in addition to the dedication of servicemen, the pace of work of Ukrainian and European manufacturers and the supply of weapons from Western partners remain decisive, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 30, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi instructed to accelerate the purchase of weapons and equipment and strengthen the manning of units for the lines of interception of enemy Shaheds near large cities.
On November 12, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andrii Kovalenko, reported that the aggressor country of russia had officially created a new type of military force - unmanned systems, for which it copied successful solutions from Ukraine.
