On the night of February 3, the aggressor country of russia carried out a record strike on Ukraine using ballistics.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today was a record russian strike using ballistics. There were 28 cruise missiles, as well as 43 more missiles of various types that enter the target on a ballistic trajectory and can only be shot down by the Patriot. This means that missiles are needed for these systems and that the supply is operational," he said.
Zelenskyy said that during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is visiting Ukraine, they discussed, in particular, the operational supply of missiles for the Patriot systems and the involvement of new partner countries in the PURL program, which allows them to purchase scarce missiles for air defense from the United States.
Zelenskyy noted that russia has neglected the efforts of the American side and broken its promise to refrain from attacks on energy and infrastructure during the meetings of the negotiating teams, and this cannot remain without consequences.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, DTEK reported that russia's night attack on February 3 was the largest attack on the Ukrainian energy system since the beginning of the year, the enemy targeted facilities that provided Ukrainians with heat and electricity during the frosty period.
