Russia's night attack on February 3 was the largest attack on the Ukrainian energy system since the beginning of the year, with the enemy purposefully striking at facilities that provided Ukrainians with heat and electricity during the frosty period.
This was announced by the company's press service on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the attacks were on electricity generation and distribution facilities, the most difficult situation was at thermal power plants operating in heating mode:
"The attacks were on CHPPs and TPPs in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. In particular, DTEK thermal power plants were severely damaged," the company reported.
A DTEK facility in the Odesa Region also came under massive shelling with missiles and drones, leaving thousands of consumers without power.
Due to serious restrictions in the power system, emergency outages have been introduced on the left bank of Kyiv (Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts) (schedules are not in effect), and temporary restriction schedules are in effect on the right bank.
The energy company emphasizes that the system is currently operating with serious restrictions, and specialists are trying to stabilize power supply in the affected regions around the clock.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of February 3, russia again struck the DTEK thermal power plant: this is the ninth massive attack this winter.
After the russian federation's night attack, two districts of Kyiv were left without heat, DTEK introduced emergency power outages.
