The aggressor country of russia privately apologized for the incident with the attack of drones on a passenger train, which occurred on January 27 in the Kharkiv Region.
The American publication The New York Times reported this with reference to its own sources.
An unnamed high-ranking Ukrainian official said that the partial ceasefire, which US President Donald Trump announced the day before, is the so-called "gentleman's agreement" between the participants in the negotiations in the United Arab Emirates.
He also reported that after the drone attack on the passenger train, members of the russian delegation apologized privately. They explained that not all units of the russian army allegedly received an order to cease fire.
At the time of publication of the news story, Ukraine did not confirm or deny this information. The aggressor country also did not comment on it in any way.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of Tuesday, January 27, the invaders attacked a passenger train in the Kharkiv Region, which was operating the "Barvinkove - Lviv - Chop" flight. The strike was carried out by three drones.
As it became known later, two drones hit the locomotive, and the third hit one of the passenger cars. It was damaged and caught fire. Initially, five people were reported killed.
On Wednesday, January 28, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that the number of people killed in the strike on the train had increased to six people.
