In 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine presented a digital person created by artificial intelligence (AI) to comment on consular information for the media, who was named Viktoria ShI ["shtuchnyi intelekt" in Ukrainian, AI - ed.]. However, the idea had to be abandoned quite quickly as ineffective. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this in response to a request from the Ukrainian News Agency.
The AI speaker was presented on May 1, 2024, and her last mention on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website was dated October 10 of the same year. During this period, 11 comments with the participation of Viktoria AI were published on the department's website.
"During the implementation of the project, it did not receive the expected interest from media representatives, which was associated with a decline in its use," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted.

At the same time, the ministry emphasizes that no budget funds were spent on the implementation of the AI speaker project.
"This pilot project was developed to optimize interaction with the press on consular issues and was implemented without any use of budget funds," the response to the Ukrainian News Agency reads.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that the idea of creating an AI avatar for interaction with the press belonged to the then Minister Dmytro Kuleba. And the representative of the Foreign Ministry for consular issues, Viktoria ShI, was created based on a real person - Ukrainian singer and influencer Rosali Nombre (participated in the reality show Bachelor-11).
