The city of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kharkiv Region is not under the control of the russian occupiers, as reported by the head of the General Staff of the aggressor country, Rrssia, Valery Gerasimov. This is indicated in a statement of the Joint Forces Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Tuesday, January 27.
The grouping emphasized that the statements of russian generals are untrue and contradict the situation. Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi is not only not under the control of the invaders, but is not even close to the direct line of contact.
"The Joint Forces Group continues to be amazed at the ability of Russian generals not only to exaggerate their achievements, but also to invent them from scratch. We would like to remind you that in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law, Ukrainian prisoners of war can receive qualified medical care, including narcologists," the statement reads.

As a reminder, today, January 27, russian General Gerasimov announced the alleged capture of the city by russian occupiers.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, as of January 22, about 50 russian occupants remained in Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region, after the Ukrainian Defense Forces completed the cleanup.
As a reminder, earlier analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) emphasized that the russian authorities are trying to form an alternative picture of the fighting, systematically spreading false statements about the alleged capture of Kupiansk.
