About 50 russian occupants remain in Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region, after the Ukrainian Defense Forces have completed the cleanup. In addition, the enemy's attempts to "correct the situation" are unsuccessful.

Viktor Trehubov, Head of the Joint Forces Communications Department, announced this during the telethon.

"In Kupiansk itself, the city has been cleared of Russian occupants - of those units of the Russian occupiers that are still there in several of its neighborhoods. I'm not even talking about districts, I'm talking about neighborhoods," Trehubov said.

Speaking about the number of russians in Kupiansk, he said: "There are about 20 walkie-talkies, let's multiply by two or three. Well, somewhere in the region of 50, I think, there are still some. That's if we take the maximum."

At the same time, according to him, the enemy does not surrender en masse. He added that "they are taking a few prisoners" - we are talking about several a week.

"On the flanks, well, look, there are constant attempts to get through to the east of the city, across the river directly, but without much success. And constant attempts to somehow overcome this distance to the north of the city - also without success," Trehubov informed.

In addition, he noted that all the russians' attempts to "fix the situation" do not lead to any special effect.

Earlier, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) emphasized that the russian authorities are trying to form an alternative picture of the fighting, systematically spreading false statements about the alleged capture of Kupiansk.
