Dragon Capital founder Tomáš Fiala has sold a minority stake in Ukrainska Pravda to the Dutch fund Pluralis.
This is stated in the message of Dragon Capital, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Pluralis B.V., an impact investment fund managed by the American Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), has become a minority shareholder in Ukrainska Pravda (UP Media Plus LLC and UP Media LLC).
Pluralis was founded by a group of European media companies, democracy funds and impact investors. The fund invests in news media that provide independent, high-quality journalism in European countries. Pluralis, which already has investments in three countries in Central and South-Eastern Europe, is now making its first investment in Ukraine.
Pluralis B.V. is a Dutch limited liability company organized and incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands, headquartered in Amsterdam. Among the company's shareholders, investors and partners are a group of leading European media companies, democracy funds and impact investors, including King Baudouin Foundation, Tinius Trust, Oak Foundation, Mediahuis, Erste Bank, Media Development Investment Fund and SEDF, as well as other impact investors and family offices.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2021, Dragon Capital CEO Tomáš Fiala acquired 100% of the corporate rights of Ukrainska Pravda.
