Documents on the security guarantees of the United States of America for Ukraine are fully prepared and awaiting signing. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Sunday, January 25.
According to the head of state, Ukraine expects the United States to be ready, as well as a specific date and place for signing the documents on security guarantees. He added that the agreement on security guarantees should be ratified by both the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the US Congress.
As for the European security guarantees, they should clearly state the date of Ukraine's accession to the European Union and the results of the work of the "Coalition of the Willing."
"These are European security guarantees, this is a "coalition of the willing" and most importantly, membership in the European Union. These are economic security guarantees for Ukraine. We want the 27th year, we are talking about a specific date when Ukraine will be ready," Zelenskyy said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, recently, the Italian edition of Corriere della Sera wrote that Ukraine was offered to give up the part of the Donbas under its control in exchange for USD 800 billion and security guarantees.
On January 10, US President Donald Trump said that his country does not intend to be the main defender of Ukraine in case of a repeated invasion of the aggressor country of russia.
At the end of December last year, Zelenskyy said that the United States offered Ukraine a security guarantee agreement for a period of 15 years.
