US President Donald Trump said the United States will not play a leading role in any possible future guarantees of military support for Ukraine in the event of a new russian invasion.
Responding to a question from The New York Times about a potential peace deal, Trump noted that in such a situation the main responsibility should lie with allies.
"Let's put it this way: its (Ukraine's - ed.) allies, all of Europe, other countries and the United States," he said.
At the same time, Trump noted that he is not against the participation of the United States in Ukraine's future defense system, but only because, in his opinion, there is no risk of a second invasion by russia.
"I firmly believe that they will not invade again, otherwise I would not agree to it," the US President said.
