In the coming days, Ukraine is planning to switch from emergency to hourly power outages.
Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced this.
According to him, the situation in the power system remains difficult - there is a significant power shortage.
"However, thanks to the coordinated actions of Ukrenergo and distribution system operators, we see a tendency towards partial stabilization. We expect to gradually switch from emergency to hourly outages in the coming days. Our goal is to reach the projected schedules of up to 3-4 queues. We are also forming additional reserve crews to strengthen our work," he wrote.
According to him, a full verification of cogeneration units in Kyiv and the region was carried out.
"We have clearly determined their total number and technical performance. Currently, only a third of the commissioned capacities are actually supplying energy to the grid. We are working with local authorities on this issue. All facilities must be operational," the Minister added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Shmyhal previously stated that energy workers had developed a number of technical solutions that would allow Kyiv to move to the predicted electricity outage schedules.
