Poland has sent a package of energy aid to Ukraine for Kyiv and settlements of the Kyiv Region, which suffered from the strikes of the russian aggressor country on energy infrastructure facilities.
Piotr Łukasiewicz, Charge d'Affaires of Poland in Ukraine, said this on Wednesday, January 21.
"Dear Kyiv residents and residents of communities around Kyiv! 400 generators of various types from government stocks are coming to you from Poland. Poland is helping," Łukasiewicz wrote on Twitter.
He did not specify when the batch of generators would be delivered to Ukraine.
Recall that in recent weeks, the occupiers have launched a series of attacks on energy facilities in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region. As a result, the capital has experienced problems with electricity, water and heat supply.
As of the morning of January 21, about 60% of consumers in Kyiv were still without power, and emergency blackouts continue to be in effect in the capital. In addition, a little more than 3,200 apartment buildings remain without heating.
Power engineers are working to eliminate the consequences of the strikes and restore the power grid, but the work is complicated by the cold weather and the extent of damage to the power system as a result of months of shelling.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, January 20, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said, that in the coming days, Ukraine will receive energy aid packages from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Azerbaijan and Ireland.
Also on Tuesday, a batch of boiler equipment arrived in Ukraine, the purchase and delivery of which was financed by the Italian government.
