Ukraine will soon receive energy assistance packages from four more countries. Three of them will provide equipment, the fourth - financial support.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Tuesday, January 20.
According to her, Ukraine will receive cargoes with equipment from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Azerbaijan any day now. These are generators, transformers, cables, medical equipment and other humanitarian aid.
And the Irish government will send USD 25 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine next week.
"We are grateful to all our partners for their continued support and assistance already provided: contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and backup power equipment," Svyrydenko wrote.
The head of government added that all equipment and financial assistance will be used to restore electricity supply to Ukrainian homes and repair energy infrastructure facilities.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine said that Azerbaijan has provided Ukraine with energy assistance worth about USD 1 million. The aid package includes transformers, generators and cable products.
Also today, a batch of boiler equipment arrived in Ukraine, the purchase and delivery of which was financed by the Italian government.
The day before, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine published a list of recommendations on how to keep the house warm during long power outages or lack of heating.
