A peak in the activity of enemy bot farms and a change in the tactics of information attacks regarding the electricity supply situation in Ukraine have been recorded on the Internet. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.

"Systematic monitoring of the information space confirms the anomalous activity of automated networks on the topics of power outages. An unnatural speed of comments, their synchronicity on different platforms, and an atypical ratio of reactions to views are recorded. The analysis shows that a significant share of negativity is generated by algorithmic bots," it says.

It is noted that the enemy has adapted its tactics, relying on "hyperlocalization". This involves the creation of networks of pseudo-local channels and communities (in particular, "ZOV") that imitate regional news and discussions. Socially sensitive topics and everyday fears are exploited through them.

In particular, according to the Center, within the framework of the "Black Winter" campaign, responsibility for the consequences of russian attacks on energy infrastructure is shifted to the Ukrainian authorities. In parallel, fakes about "loss of control", "shortage of goods", as well as manipulations regarding the allegedly unfair distribution of electricity and its "irrational use" are being spread.

Also, a separate direction is the intimidation of the population through discrediting the "Points of Invincibility" - fictions about their danger, "territorial recruitment centers patrols" nearby and alleged inadequate security are being spread.

"Countering these threats is based on a combination of technical solutions and proactive information. The Center detects such networks and publicly reveals the mechanisms of their work," the Center said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the CCD previously explained the goals of the fake about the attack on the residence of russian dictator vladimir putin.
