The latest version of the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone was demonstrated in Kyiv. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In particular, it is reported that the latest version of the Octopus interceptor drone was demonstrated to the British delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Great Britain David Lammy.
During the event, the Ukrainian side emphasized the high need for interceptors to close the sky over Ukraine.
The Octopus drone was developed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is equipped with a control system based on artificial intelligence.
It is designed to counter Shahed-type drones, its effectiveness has been confirmed in combat. Interaction between manufacturers and the military allows for constant improvement of this technology and creates a highly efficient RnD ecosystem.
Currently, the drone is being produced in Ukraine and the UK.
In November 2025, delegations from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom signed a license agreement for the Octopus interceptor drone, which opened the way for its production in the United Kingdom.
Its volume may reach several thousand drones per month, the manufactured means will be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen the protection of the sky.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early January, the Ministry of Defense announced that since February, Ukraine and the United Kingdom will start producing 1,000 Octopus interceptor drones per month.
