Starting in February, Ukraine and the United Kingdom will launch the production of 1000 Octopus interceptor drones per month. The Ministry of Defense has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the report, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and British Defense Secretary John Healey signed a roadmap for the development of a century-old partnership in the defense sector in Kyiv, the document consolidates defense cooperation in 2026 in a number of key security areas.

Shmyhal, together with representatives of the intelligence and the General Staff, also briefed the foreign delegation on the consequences of the massive russian combined strike last night.

"Strengthening air defense and providing ammunition for these systems is a key priority. The UK has already made a significant contribution to strengthening our ability to repel Russian terror. Starting in February, we will start production of 1000 Octopus interceptor drones per month," Shmyhal said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in November, the Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a license agreement for the production of the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone. Shmyhal said that this will allow the production of Ukrainian interceptors in the UK, which have proven effective in the fight against the Shahed, and the manufactured equipment will be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen its defense.
