Trump accuses Denmark of inaction in face of russian threat in Greenland

US President Donald Trump, after a conversation with NATO head Mark Rutte, made another statement about Greenland, accusing Denmark of inaction in the face of the "russian threat".

He wrote about this on TruthSocial.

"NATO has been telling Denmark for 20 years that "you must eliminate the russian threat from Greenland". Unfortunately, Denmark has not been able to do anything about it. Now is the time, and it will be done!!!" the message says.

At the same time, NATO head Mark Rutte said the day before that he had discussed the topic of Greenland with the American President.

"I spoke with US President Donald Trump about the security situation in Greenland and the Arctic. We will continue to work on this, and I look forward to meeting him in Davos at the end of this week," Rutte said.

Recall that only 17% of Americans approve of President Donald Trump's efforts to acquire Greenland, and a significant majority of Democrats and Republicans oppose the use of military force to annex the island, a Reuters poll showed.

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States needs Greenland for the "Golden Dome".

Meanwhile, on January 18, the European Union was preparing an emergency meeting of ambassadors in connection with US President Donald Trump's statement on new tariffs because of Greenland.
