10 repair crews of Ukrzaliznytsia have joined the restoration of heating in Kyiv. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Sunday, January 18, following a meeting of the Emergency Response Headquarters in Kyiv and the region.

Constant localized accidents are recorded in Kyiv due to low temperatures and worn-out infrastructure. Currently, repair crews are trying to return electricity to 143 houses. Additional forces are being deployed to speed up the restoration as much as possible, emphasized Shmyhal.

"Additional repair teams from Ukrzaliznytsia and other regions have already started working. 10 teams are from UZ, eight more from the Kyiv Region. Tomorrow, more crews from Rivne and additional crews from the railroad will arrive in the city," the head of the Ministry of Energy wrote.

In addition, 60 crews are already working to restore power supply, 12 of which came from other regions. 55 additional generators were delivered from the hub of the Ministry of Energy.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 16, Shmyhal said that due to large-scale strikes by the aggressor country russia, there was not a single undamaged power plant in Ukraine.
