The defense forces will conduct a strategic defense operation as well as offensive operations, as there is no victory in defense. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated this in an interview with LB on Sunday, January 18.

Syrskyi emphasized that Ukrainian troops will continue the practice of asymmetric actions against the enemy, which shows good results. According to him, the plans and directions of the russian occupiers' offensive have not changed, and the whole of Ukraine remains the global goal.

"That's why we will conduct a strategic defense operation, while we understand that you can't win in defense. Therefore, accordingly, we will conduct offensive operations, fight to keep the operational initiative, because this leads to the fact that the enemy is forced to attract and withdraw significant human resources, weapons, ammunition to restrain our active actions," Syrskyi emphasized.

The military will continue to conduct combat operations and will try to minimize human resources, potential in weapons and military production, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.

On December 30, Syrsky instructed to speed up the purchase of weapons and equipment and strengthen the manning of units for the frontiers intercepting enemy Shaheds near major cities.
