Within the framework of the implementation of the memorandum on readiness to finance the restoration of the energy infrastructure damaged by the massive attacks of the russian federation, banks have provided financing for business projects aimed at developing generation in the energy sector with a capacity of 1.342 GW.
This is stated in the message of the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to a survey of banks, from June 1, 2024 to January 1, 2026, within the framework of the memorandum on readiness to finance the restoration of the energy infrastructure after the massive attacks of the russian federation, banks have provided financing for projects to restore the energy sector and support energy independence in 21 regions of the country for UAH 35.3 billion.
Over the specified period, more than 2,700 loans were provided to businesses for UAH 32.9 billion and more than 14,000 loans to the population for UAH 2.4 billion.
In total, banks provided financing for business projects aimed at developing energy generation with a capacity of 1.342 GW, energy storage and heat generation - for 543 MW.
The gross portfolio of "energy" loans to legal entities, taking into account their repayment as of January 1, 2026, reached UAH 23.4 billion, and to individuals - UAH 1.9 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the energy sector is recognized as one of the priorities in accordance with the Strategy for Lending Development developed by the National Bank together with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance.
Within its framework, the NBU has implemented a number of steps to activate lending to priority sectors.
In particular, to stimulate financing of the energy sector, the requirements for banks' assessment of credit risks have been revised and the coefficients for taking into account the cost of energy equipment when accepting it as collateral for relevant loans have been increased.
