The government and the relevant headquarters have decided to include high-rise buildings heated exclusively by electricity to the list of critical infrastructure facilities. This was stated by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal during the hour of questions to government in the Verkhovna Rada.
He emphasized that such a step will allow these houses to be provided with uninterrupted power supply even during periods of restrictions.
According to the head of the department, in the near future such buildings will no longer be subject to planned electricity restriction schedules. Power supply will remain stable, and power outages are possible only in the event of unforeseen network damage.
"Now they will be included in the relevant lists and in the near future these buildings will not be disconnected, except for emergency shutdowns, when the system disconnects critical infrastructure facilities," Denys Shmyhal explained.
In addition, the minister reported on the state of affairs with centralized heating in the capital. Currently, 182 Kyiv high-rise buildings are still at the stage of connecting to the heat supply, and specialists are working to restore the service in these buildings.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of the morning of January 16, the situation with the power supply in the capital has stabilized, thanks to which there are currently no residential buildings in Kyiv that would remain without a constant supply of electricity.
Kyiv will attract emergency crews from the regions to massively connect generators in high-rise buildings.
