US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine, not russia, is holding up a potential peace deal.
He told Reuters on January 14.
According to Trump, russian dictator vladimir putin is ready to end his invasion of Ukraine, while Zelenskyy has allegedly been more restrained.
"I think he (putin - ed.) is ready to make a deal. I think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal," the American President said.
Separately, when asked why the US-led talks have not yet led to a resolution to the war, Trump replied: "Zelenskyy." Asked why he believes Zelenskyy is holding up the talks, Trump did not give a detailed answer, saying only: "I just think it's hard for him, you know, to do it."
At the same time, Trump noted that he would meet with Zelenskyy at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland next week, but hinted that plans had not yet been determined.
"I will meet if he is there. I will be there," Trump said.
In addition, the US President noted that he was not aware of a possible upcoming trip by Witkoff and Kushner to Moscow, which Bloomberg reported the day before.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Trump previously stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy still has no trump cards, recalling his words during a fight in the Oval Office. According to him, the only thing Zelenskyy has is Donald Trump.
