The United Kingdom is allocating GBP 200 million (about EUR 230 million in conversion - ed.) to equip its armed forces with new equipment for their potential deployment in Ukraine after the ceasefire as part of "security guarantees".
The Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom reported this on the website of the government of the country.
These funds will be used to modernize vehicles, communication systems, provide protection against drones and additional equipment for protection, "which will ensure the readiness of troops for deployment if necessary".
"We are increasing investment in our training following the Prime Minister's (Keir Starmer - ed.) statement this week, ensuring the readiness of the UK Armed Forces to deploy and lead the Multinational Force in Ukraine, because a secure Ukraine means a secure UK," said British Defence Minister John Healey, who, as Ukrainian News Agency reported, visited Kyiv the day before.
