Due to difficult weather conditions, the Government has made decisions that may allow the educational process to be transferred from face-to-face to remote or the winter holidays to be extended until at least January 19. In addition, depending on the situation in each region, it is necessary to work out the issue of transferring enterprises, institutions and organizations to remote mode. Prime Minister Yuliшa Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel on Thursday, January 8.
Svyrнdenko noted that the Ministry of Education, together with other central executive authorities, regional and Kyiv city military administrations, should urgently work out the issue of education in pre-school, general secondary, vocational and higher education institutionsю
The government has instructed to consider the following possibilities:
- temporary suspension of the educational process in a full-time format;
- transition to distance learning or extension of winter holidays until at least January 19, 2026.
According to Svyrydenko, decisions will be made immediately, taking into account the conclusions of the emergency response commissions and the real situation in the regions.
"The regional and Kyiv city military administrations, together with the emergency response commissions, are recommended to work out the issue of transferring the work of enterprises, institutions and organizations to a remote mode for the period of severe weather conditions, taking into account the situation in each region," the Prime Minister wrote.
The recommendations do not apply to critical infrastructure and other facilities that cannot be switched to remote work under martial law.
