SESU urges Ukrainians not to travel anywhere tomorrow due to rain and blizzards

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) advised Ukrainians not to travel anywhere on Friday, January 9, if possible, or to plan routes in advance due to significant complications in weather conditions. This was stated in a SESU message on Thursday, January 8.

According to the forecasts of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, on Friday the roads of most regions of Ukraine will be very slippery. Significant snow and blizzards are expected at night and in the morning in the Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv Regions and the city of Kyiv, the Chernihiv and Sumy Regions. Heavy rains with wet snow will cover the Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia Regions.

"Drivers and pedestrians, be as careful as possible! Due to strong winds and ice, the situation on the roads may be critical. Plan your trips in advance. Or better yet, if possible, don't go anywhere!" the State Emergency Service emphasized.

Also, blizzards and storm winds at a speed of 15-20 m/s will blow in the Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv Regions.
