Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov said that technically the situation in the city is one of the most difficult, and called it "a truly national emergency." He reported this on Telegram.
According to him, since last night the city has been working out all the necessary algorithms in constant contact with the regional military administration and relevant ministries. The head of the city noted that the light is gradually returning to the hospitals.
"However, I would like to remind you that medical institutions have alternative power sources and the necessary supplies," he said.
Regarding critical infrastructure, Borys Filatov reported that the city's sewage system has already been restored, and the life of the Left Bank is supported by alternative power sources. On the Right Bank, the water supply situation has gradually begun to stabilize. The most difficult issue remains the issue of heating, since all the city's boiler rooms were powerless yesterday.
"We are currently making every effort to restore their work," the mayor of Dnipro stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, large-scale emergency and restoration work is underway in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Regions after enemy strikes. Electricity and water supply have been partially restored. Thus, electricity has appeared in some houses in Dnipro, but there is still no water and heating.
Secondary education institutions in Dnipro have decided to extend the winter holidays for another two days due to the lack of electricity after the russian attack.
On the evening of January 7, residents of Dnipro heard the sound of an explosion, after which the city was plunged into darkness. There is no electricity in almost all areas of the regional center.
