Schoolchildren's holidays extended due to blackout in Dnipro - mayor

Dnipro secondary education institutions have decided to extend the winter holidays for another two days due to the lack of electricity after the russian attack.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov announced this on social networks.

"School holidays have been extended for another two days," the mayor noted.

According to him, despite the difficult situation with electricity supply, all city hospitals have been switched to backup power from generators and have the necessary water supplies, so the treatment process continues without interruption.

Filatov also informed that the water drainage system in residential buildings is working thanks to alternative sources of electricity. About 130 service water columns have currently been installed in various districts of the city.

In addition, if necessary, they plan to deploy invincibility points in the morning - a total of 89 such locations have been prepared in Dnipro.

"Most likely, there will also be disruptions to electric transport in the morning," the mayor warned.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of January 7, residents of Dnipro heard the sound of an explosion, after which the city was plunged into darkness. There is no electricity in almost all districts of the regional center.
