Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that his country could become a platform for peace talks with the aggressor country Russia. Ukraine is currently discussing with its partners the upcoming talks and where they could take place. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists on Wednesday, January 7.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian negotiators are discussing potential talks with russia with their partners.
"First of all, Turkey was a platform for negotiations. We reached decisions there on the return of our prisoners of war, on exchanges. I think we will continue this track. I don't know if it will be on the basis of Turkey or maybe in another country, we'll see. Of course, we are discussing future negotiations with our partners and where they can be," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the President called the meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" in Paris on January 6 "historic" and the first step towards binding security guarantees from 34 countries for Ukraine.
