Visa, together with payment provider PSP Platon (PLC "Online Payments"), are expanding the capabilities of the Visa Payment Passkey solution in Ukraine, completing the integration on December 26, 2025.
Visa reported this to the Ukrainian News Agency.
Visa Payment Passkey (payment passkeys) is based on international FIDO (Fast Identity Online) standards. Unlike traditional passwords and SMS codes, payment passkeys are more resistant to phishing attacks, data interception and theft, which is aimed at significantly increasing the level of security of online transactions.
With the integration of Visa Payment Passkey, PSP Platon expands the capabilities of the solution based on Token Management Service (TMS), offering merchants the use of new authentication technology without the need for additional technical improvements. This allows users to authenticate transactions using a fingerprint scan or facial recognition, making the payment process fast and convenient.
The initiative is implemented using Visa Acceptance Platform (VAP/Cybersource) solutions for authentication and authorization and is a step in the implementation of global standards in the field of digital payments in Ukraine.
By creating a payment access key (Visa Payment Passkey) once, the user will be able to use it with all partners that support this solution, having a familiar and unified method of confirming payments in different channels.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Visa works in the electronic payments industry. Every year, Visa processes payment transactions between consumers, businesses, financial and government organizations in more than 200 countries.
Earlier, Visa announced the launch of a pilot project that will allow businesses and platforms to send payments directly to the recipients' stablecoin wallets.
