Has unique qualifications - Canadian Prime Minister on Freeland, who became Zelenskyy's advisor

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is convinced that former Minister of Transport and Internal Trade Chrystia Freeland is "uniquely qualified" to work as an advisor on economic development to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He wrote about this on his page on the social network X.

So, the head of the Canadian government thanked Chrystia Freeland for her work as a special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Carney also said that the appointment of Freeland is another testament to Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine.

"You are uniquely qualified to fulfill this important new role... Canada will continue to support Ukraine to ensure a just and lasting peace," the Canadian Prime Minister said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 5, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed former Vice Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland as an advisor on economic development.

57-year-old Freeland is a Canadian politician of Ukrainian origin, in 2019-2024 she was the Vice Prime Minister of Canada, Minister of Finance of Canada, in 2017-2019 she held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, she was also Canada's Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
