Five MPs of the Verkhovna Rada, suspected of receiving bribes for "necessary" votes, were chosen as preventive measures in the form of bails in the amount of UAH 20 million to UAH 40 million.
This was announced by the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) set the following bail amounts: UAH 40 million and UAH 30 million for two MPs. UAH 20 million each for two more. The fifth suspect was set at UAH 16.6 Million.
In addition, the court imposed procedural obligations on all suspects. In particular, MPs are required to wear electronic monitoring devices.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, MPs Yevhen Pyvovarov, Ihor Nehulevskyi, Yurii Kisiel, Olha Savchenko and Mykhailo Laba are suspected of receiving bribes for "necessary" votes in the Verkhovna Rada. NABU and SAPO conducted a special operation, as a result of which they exposed an organized criminal group, which included current MPs of Ukraine.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau suspects MPs from the Servant of the People party of receiving bribes for voting in the Verkhovna Rada. MPs received from USD 2,000 to USD 20,0000 in bribes for voting in parliament.
