The National Anti-Corruption Bureau suspects three members of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party of taking bribes for voting in the Verkhovna Rada.
It was reported to the Ukrainian News agency by sources among law enforcement agencies.
MPs Yevhen Pyvovarov, Ihor Nehulevskyi and Yurii Kisiel were served notices of suspicion. The MPs received envelopes with money in the office of one of the MPs.
All three were notified of suspicion under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). The MPs are also suspected under Articles 255 (creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it) and 369 (offer, promise or provision of an undue advantage to an official).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the state security officers tried to prevent investigative actions in the Verkhovna Rada committees, but later allowed the operatives in. As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, NABU and SAPO conducted a special operation that exposed an organized criminal group that included current members of the Ukrainian parliament.
