The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the aggressor country of the russian federation has put the head of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) Denis Kapustin on the wanted list again. The day before, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine staged an assassination attempt on him.
The russian media outlet RBC writes about this with reference to Kapustin's card on the website of the russian Interior Ministry.
"Base for the search: wanted under article of the Criminal Code <...>. Re-announced," the card says.
The russians put Kapustin on the wanted list in March 2023. The occupiers accused him of "high treason," "organizing a terrorist group" and "committing terrorist acts."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 27, 2025, the russian Volunteer Corps said that the commander of the unit Denis Kapustin was killed as a result of an FPV drone hit in one of the frontline areas in the Zaporizhzhia Region.
Yesterday, January 1, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that Kapustin's "death" was staged. The RVC commander is alive, and the news of his death was part of a special operation.
Later, the agency published a video of Kapustin's "death", for the "murder" of whom the russian special services paid USD 500,000. This money was transferred to the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
