Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has instructed to speed up the procurement of weapons and equipment and to strengthen the manning of units for the frontiers intercepting enemy Shaheds near large cities. Syrskyi said this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Syrskyi also said that he had held a monthly meeting dedicated to countering the enemy Shaheds. According to him, this requires an integrated approach, the use of a wide range of weapons, and therefore the synergy of efforts of many components of the Defense Forces.

"Our key task at this stage is to strengthen the direction of UAV interceptors, increase the number of relevant drones, ground stations and radars, increase the volume and quality of crew training," he said.

Syrskyi said that this project has been implemented for a long time and has his full support.

"Within the echeloned system, at a certain distance from large cities, interception lines are created. The number of applications of UAV interceptors and their effectiveness are gradually increasing. At the same time, he emphasized the need to intensify this work, accelerate the procurement of appropriate weapons and equipment, and strengthen the manning of relevant units," he said.

He said that the formation of separate divisions of unmanned air defense systems continues, staff units of UAV interceptors are being created as part of training grounds (training centers), and additional resources of army aviation and small aircraft, as well as the support of international partners, are being attracted to counter Shaheds.

Syrskyi noted that during the meeting they discussed problematic issues and ways to solve them.

"The enemy is taking advantage of the weather conditions, modernizing its attack drones and changing the tactics of their use, attacking at ultra-low altitudes. Accordingly, we are modernizing our countermeasures and changing the system to achieve the necessary results," he said.
