A Ukrainian drone-interceptor of Shaheds has been put into mass production in Ukraine. Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"A Ukrainian drone-interceptor of Shaheds has been put into mass production in Ukraine. The technology has been transferred to the first three manufacturers, eleven more are preparing production lines," he said.
Shmyhal noted that Octopus is a Ukrainian technology for intercepting Shaheds, developed by the Armed Forces and confirmed in combat, works at night, under jamming and at low altitudes.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the efficiency of destroying enemy UAVs by interceptor drones is 68%.
Zelenskyy also said that starting in November, Ukraine plans to put 500-800 interceptors on daily duty to repel attacks by Shahed drones.
In November, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the United States have started joint production of interceptor drones used in air defense.
