Following the russian attack on Kyiv on the night of December 27, the state of the capital's power grid remains tense. On the right bank of the river, power supply is carried out according to restricted schedules, while on the left bank, citizens continue to face emergency outages.
It was reported by DTEK and CEO of Yasno Serhii Kovalenko.
The power company notes that it is currently impossible to return to the planned schedules of outages on the left bank due to technical restrictions after the shelling.
Energy workers continue restoration work and eliminate the consequences of the massive attack in order to stabilize the operation of the networks.
Serhii Kovalenko explained that the left bank has tried several times to switch to scheduled outages, but electricity consumption is growing sharply and exceeds the system's capabilities. Because of this, power engineers have to re-impose emergency restrictions.
Earlier, the Kyiv City State Administration stated that both banks of Kyiv were switched from emergency to hourly blackout schedules.
If russian attacks on energy infrastructure are completely stopped, it will take Ukraine about two months to return to stable operation of the power system without blackout schedules.
