US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin a few hours before his meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump announced this on his page on the social network Truth Social.
"I just had a good and very productive telephone call with President Putin of Russia prior to my meeting, at 1:00 P.M. today, with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine," Trump wrote.
The US president did not specify what he and the russian dictator talked about on the phone.
Trump also wrote that the meeting with Zelenskyy would take place at 1 p.m. local time (8 p.m. Kyiv time) at his residence in Mar-a-Lago.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 28, the White House press service said that the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump in Mar-a-Lago had been moved 2 hours earlier.
Yesterday, December 27, Trump announced a phone conversation with putin. He also stated that the russian economy was in a difficult state.
Shortly before that, Trump stated cautious optimism about negotiating a peace deal and ending the russian-Ukrainian war.
