The aggressor country russia does not approve the edited version of the peace plan to end the russian-Ukrainian war. Moscow intends to make changes to the document regarding the Ukrainian army, sanctions and its frozen assets.
Bloomberg reported this, citing its own sources on Wednesday, December 24.
An unnamed source close to the kremlin said that the russian federation is concerned about guarantees to stop NATO's eastward expansion and Ukraine's neutral status if the country becomes a member of the European Union.
He added that moscow is unhappy that the new version of the peace plan does not contain restrictions on the post-war Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, the russians want the document to guarantee that the russian language will be granted the status of the state language.
In addition, moscow wants to get clarity on the issue of lifting sanctions and frozen russian assets.
The Bloomberg source said that russia views the redacted document as a plan for "standard Ukrainian demands." The russians are afraid of angering US President Donald Trump, so they did not completely reject the peace plan, but did not approve it either.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, today, December 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time revealed the details of a peace plan to end the war. He listed all 20 points of the document and commented on the most controversial ones.
On December 22, he spoke about security guarantees for Ukraine, which Kyiv is currently discussing with the United States and Europe.
