About ten units of the russian aggressor army are confronting the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Myrnohrad, Donetsk Region. The occupants are increasing pressure on the city against the backdrop of the inability to establish control over the neighboring Pokrovsk.
The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Wednesday, December 24
According to the military, due to the setbacks in Pokrovsk, the russians have focused their attention on Myrnohrad. The capture of the settlement is important for them, as it will allow them to make further advances in this section of the frontline.
"To realize the goal, the enemy has concentrated about ten units in the area of Myrnohrad. To deter the enemy, the defense of Myrnohrad has been replenished with additional forces and means," the statement said.
In particular, the Ukrainian military reinforced logistics routes located west of Myrnohrad. This allows not to interrupt the supply of forces in this area.
Servicemen of the 38th separate marine brigade and the 79th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are engaged in the elimination of the occupiers. The main focus of their attention is on the areas where the occupiers are most actively trying to penetrate the city.
The corps also reported that since the beginning of December, Ukrainian marines and paratroopers have killed or disabled 207 russian army soldiers. Also, 12 units of ground equipment and 34 drones were destroyed or damaged.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Ukrainian forces have regained control over 72 square kilometers of territory in Pokrovsk and its outskirts.
Shortly before, on December 15, the Operation Task Force "East" said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces controlled the northern part of Pokrovsk. At the same time, the military acknowledged that the situation in Myrnohrad was difficult.
