Estonia has allocated EUR 2 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to help restore the country's energy infrastructure and ensure security of supply.

This was reported by ERR.

"Estonia's support for Ukraine is consistent and long-term. Today, Ukraine's energy sector is not just a sector of the economy, but a matter of survival. Every restored substation, every working generator means a warm home, a functioning hospital and a functioning society," said Minister of Energy and the Environment Andres Sutt.

The Estonian Ministry of Climate noted that the allocated EUR 2 million will help cover the urgent needs of Ukrainian energy companies, including the purchase of spare parts, generators and fuel, as well as emergency repairs.

Earlier, Estonia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, donated EUR 620,000 to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine: EUR 50,000 in 2023, EUR 420,000 in 2024 and EUR 150,000 in October this year. In total, various countries donated EUR 1.44 billion to the fund.

"We want to be an example for those countries that have not yet contributed to the fund, because supporting Ukraine's energy infrastructure is our shared responsibility: it is about protecting freedom and democracy," the minister noted.

We will remind you that this night the aggressor state of russia struck another blow to Ukraine's energy infrastructure, as a result of which emergency power outages were introduced in a number of regions.

In particular, the aggressor state of russia attacked DTEK thermal power plants for the seventh time since October, damaging the equipment.
