On the night of Tuesday, December 23, russian occupation forces carried out a massive combined strike on Ukraine, using at least 30 missiles and over 650 drones, the enemy's main targets were civilian facilities and energy.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"A massive russian strike on Ukraine has been ongoing since last night, primarily on our energy sector, on civilian infrastructure, literally on the entire infrastructure of life. There have already been more than 650 drones, and a significant part are Shaheds. Over three dozen missiles," he wrote.
All necessary services have been involved to eliminate the consequences of the strike.
It was not without losses.
Thus, a woman was killed in the Kyiv Region from a russian drone strike.
It is also known about the death of a person in the Khmelnytskyi Region.
And in the Zhytomyr Region, a four-year-old child was killed as a result of a drone hitting a residential building.
In general, according to the President, at least 13 regions were hit.
A significant part of the drones and missiles were shot down, however, there were also hits.
Repair crews and power engineers are already working on the ground.
"This russian strike is an extremely clear signal of russian priorities. A strike before Christmas, when people want to be with their families, at home, in safety. A strike in fact in the midst of negotiations that are underway to end this war. Putin cannot accept the fact that he must stop killing. And this means that the world is not putting enough pressure on russia. We must react now. We must press russia towards peace and guaranteed security. We must not forget that every day - both on weekdays and on holidays - Ukraine protects people's lives. Air defense for Ukraine, financing for the purchase of weapons, the supply of energy equipment - all these are processes that do not go on weekends. We must be committed to protecting life in order to finally achieve peace. Thanks to everyone who helps Ukraine!" Zelenskyy added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of December 23, the russians attacked the Zhytomyr Region with missiles and drones, several hits were recorded, a child was killed, and 5 more people were injured.
